Anil Kapoor will be seen in an international project soon. He has been roped in for a movie based on the popular game show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati ‘. Oh, you’re wondering why Amitabh Bachchan wasn’t roped in? Well, the producers first choice was Amitabh Bachchan no doubt but he refused to do the film for some reason. Later, Shah Rukh Khan was offered the role but he too had to turn it down due to date problems.
Anil Kapoor was the next choice and he promptly agreed to be the quiz master in the movie. Irrfan Khan too has a substantial role in the movie. The movie has got some big names backing it alongwith A.R.Rehman giving the music and Gulzar penning the lyrics.
The movie is based on an international bestseller named "Q and A " by an Indian diplomat Vikas Swarup . The story revolves around a slum dweller who goes on to win a fortune in the game show only to be put behind bars on accusations of cheating.
The movie seems to be scheduled for a world premier in the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Irrfan Khan has previously acted in a few international projects like The Namesake , A Mighty Heart etc. while for Anil Kapoor this will be the first time that he gets to act in a project of this stature. Will the international audience accept this ever green actor of Indian cinema? Only time will tell.
