DHARWAD: The district administration will host a Children's Film Festival in Dharwad district from January 10-20. Deputy commissioner Darpan Jain said the festival will be held in two phases. From January 10-13 it will be in Dharwad and Navalgund and from January 17-21 films will be screened in Hubli and Kalghatgi.
Jain said, DDPI had been asked to prepare a timetable and ensure that all school children see the films. Twelve films including eight in Kannada, three in Hindi and one English will be screened at the festival.
The event is being jointly organised by the Karnataka Balvikas Academy, Kannada & culture department, women & child development department and information department.
The films would be screened at Srinivas Talkies, Padma Talkies, Sangam, Vijaya and Lakshmi Talkies in Dharwad and at Sripadma, Amrut, Sujatha theatres in Hubli from 8:30 am in the first phase.
