Mumbai, April 15, 2011 (Washington Bangla Radio / Kreation Guru) ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ is a heart-warming Hindi comedy film released in Oct. 2010. It is produced by Arindam Chaudhuri under the banner of Planman Motion Pictures, and directed by the debutant Habib Faisal. It stars the favorite romantic couple of yesteryears, Rishi Kapoor and his wife, Neetu Singh, along with Archit Krishna and Aditi Vasudev. After a gap of 30 years, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh have made a comeback together in a movie.
The story is about a teacher from a middle-class family in Delhi who makes all efforts to keep his family happy and together. Due to the inflation in the country, he is underpaid because of which he works overtime to meet the needs of the family and the big demands of his children. He, at 55 years of age, owns just a scooter on which the family moves whereas he finds a student at an age of 25 years, owning a car. The teacher, too, then begins to dream of owning a car and has to face several challenges to bring his dream into existence. He persistently resists the temptations of taking any bribe from anyone for the fulfillment of his dream though the demands of his children do not lessen. After much pestering, the children begin to understand what their father is. These various challenges bring the family members closer to one another and the father is proved to be a faithful teacher and a good citizen of India. The film is shot mainly around Delhi, in places like Vinobapuri, Kirori Mal College, Salimar Bagh, C. R. Park and Khanna Market.

The critics were all praise for the movie and graded it at 3/5 stars on an average. Each actor was praised, especially Neetu Singh and Rishi Kapoor. The movie was rated as a graceful, decent film by NDTV’s Anupama Chopra. Other comments by well-known people were that the movie makes one feel good. Mayank Shekhar, the national cultural editor of ‘Hindustan Times’ rated it at 4/5 stars. It is said to be a landmark in the film-making in India. It stands out amidst the crowd of recent films of glamour and sensuality. All who have watched it say that it is a movie that is a ’must watch’ for everyone.
