Sagar Ballary’s ‘Bheja Fry 2,’ the sequel to ‘Bheja Fry’ of 2007 has hit theaters across India. Unlike the first version, the second film is not pulling in as much crowds to the cinema halls. Both viewers and reviewers are giving it a thumbs down.
According to some reviewers, ‘Bheja Fry 2’ is a moderate film and is offering nothing new from its first version, which was a super hit though made of low budget.
‘Bheja Fry 2’ features Vinay Pathak in the role of ‘idiot’ Bharat Bhushan like ‘Bheja Fry.’ Vinay Pathak has acted fantastically well, but the theme and screenplay don’t show justice to his and other actors’ acting in the film, reviewers said.
Minissha Lamba comes in the role of Ranjini, Bharat Bhushan’s soul mate. Kay Kay Menon gives life for the character of Talwar, a businessman who has invested hugely in media industry.
Bhushan is a tax-officer by profession. Being a music lover, he takes part in a reality show and wins the medal. Ranjini is the executive producer of the particular show.
Bhushan and Rajini later go for a boat cruise. In the vessel, Bhushan meets Talwar, a tax evader, who decides to kill Bhushan, because he will become a threat for him in future. On his attempt to pull Bhushan into the ocean, Talwar also slips to the waters. Both Bhushan and Talwar later then meet in a deserted island escaping from the sea.
Several reviewers have questioned the director for creating such a moment in the film. Audience will have to feel the boredom of having only two characters in the deserted island for sometime.
