5 Bollywood songs for Ganesh Chaturthi

Bollywood films often cash in on grandeur surrounding the Ganesh Chaturthi festival by adding a Ganesha song in them. The latest is Sanjay Leela Bansali's dream project, Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. The song Gajanana from historical romance film is all set for a grand release that will coincide with the festival. Here's a list of five other popular Ganesha songs from Bollywood films in recent times.

Deva Shree Ganesha (Agneepath)

For the 2012 remake of the 1990 film, Hrithik Roshan's character 'Vijay Dinnnath Chauhan' introduces himself with this song. The catchy song ends with repetitive chants that put audiences in a trance.

Sadda Dil Vi Tu (ABCD-Any Body Can Dance)

The up-beat number, which is the final performance in the dance-based 2013 movie, directed by choreographer Remo D'Souza, combines peppy beats and Hard Kaur-infused rap with the desi feel of a Ganesh Chaturthi procession.

Sindoor Lal Chadayo (Vaastav)

This devotional Ganesh Aarti played towards the film's pre-climax, which symbolically marks the downfall of crime and criminals on screen, has a fervent Marathi flavour to it. The film, which came out in 1999, was one of Sanjay Dutt's biggest hits till date.

Morya Re (Don: The Chase Begins)

Shah Rukh Khan's energetic introduction number from the 2006 remake of Amithabh Bachchan's original film of the same name showcases the Ganesh Chaturthi festival in all its grandeur. The track was composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio.

Shree Ganeshay Dheemahi (Virrudh)

Sung in the booming voice of Shankar Mahadevan, the beautiful song has a deeply spiritual feel to it. The 2005 movie, which is about family values, features actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Sharmila Tagore and John Abraham.
