Kavya Madhavan weds

Popular actor Kavya Madhavan, who virtually dominated the Malayalam film world for over a decade, on February 5 entered into wedlock with Nishal Chandra, at the famous Kollur Mookambika Devi temple in Mangalore. The simple ceremony was solemnised by the temple’s Chief Priest Govinda Adiga in the presence of close relatives of the couple.

Hailing from Nileshwaram in Kasaragod district, the 24-year-old Kavya as a child had displayed her artistic talents in school youth festivals. She entered the film world as child artiste in Pookalam Varavaayi. Her debut film as heroine was in the Lal Jose – directed Chandranudikkuna Dikkil.

After that Kavya became a much sought-after actor and several of her films with leading actors became hits. She also did a few films in other South Indian languages.

Nishal, hailing from Kayamkulam in Southern Kerala, too has acted in a few films like Kizhakkunarum Pakshi, For The People and By The People. Nishal Chandra is presently working with The National Bank of Kuwait. Talking to reporters after the marriage ceremony, Kavya said she was not altogether leaving the filmworld and planned to stage a comeback after devoting some time for family matters. She is expected to leave for Kuwait soon.
