Reticent Hrithik heads to Twitter

The latest actor to join the Twitterati is Hrithik Roshan. Normally known to be quite a shy person, Roshan has realized the power that Twitter can get him with his fans all over the world.

And with Kites publicity about to roll, we can’t help but put two and two together and come up with an answer that will make his movie fly real high at the box office.

“Duggu was convinced by his celebrity friends who are already on Twitter to join it. Today social networking sites have become great places to ensure your film is publicized to every corner of the world,” says a friend of the star, “When MNIK got into trouble, both Karan and SRK could constantly make statements which were picked up by the media. This helped maintain and build the buzz around the film. All of this is great publicity for the film.”

Twitter is the latest craze to have hit Bollywood. Making statements, uploading pictures and letting your fans know every time you take a bath or work out is what B-Town has reduced this social networking site to. But we aren’t complaining!

“Hrithik has fans all over the world. This makes him accessible to them. And which fan would not like to believe that he or she can access Duggu? In fact he was quite against coming on initially. But with his sister in law Farah Khan Ali constantly badgering his way online, he succumbed. But ever since he joined it, he has been getting such a great response and people are constantly asking him about Kites… that he plans to use it a lot more,” says the friend.

Soon after joining Twitter, Hrithik wrote about his speech problem. “A msg to all my brothers n sisters battling speech handicaps, will talk directly at length soon. Meantime 2 imp things - Make peace with ur truths. b in acceptance. if u can't look beyond ur handicap,u can't expect others to.2nd- learn to forgive immature minds.. Forgive immature minds who make u feel less for they know not what they do.”
