Abbas Tyrewala’s ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ is a typical Bollywood movie that would remind everyone of a host of other releases like ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Pyaar Impossible’ and many more.
The movie stars John Abraham and newcomer Pakhi in the lead roles.
John Abraham is seen in two looks in the movie, one of a simpleton, who stammers in front of girls and another of a self-confident man, who has everything under his control.
The story
Set in the backdrop of the London Bridge, the film 'Jhootha Hi Sahi' is the story of Siddharth (John) and Mishka (Paaki).
Mishka is about to commit suicide, when she is stopped by some inner urge of giving herself another chance.
By some hidden force, Siddharth starts getting phone calls from people, who are unhappy and want to commit suicide.
He ends up advising Miksha and provides her counseling through the phone. With subsequent calls, the two become good phone friends and develop a strong connect.
Siddharth personally meets Miksha, but she is unaware that it is the same person, who is her phone friend. She eventually falls in love with the person on the phone, without knowing who he is.
The comedy flick is a fun movie that has nothing new to tell and the audience can always assume what would happen next.
A small cameo is also played by R Madhavan, who plays the role of Miksha’s ex-lover, Kabir.
His character is that of a nagging, egotistical ex-boyfriend.
The second half of the movie has been stretched too far and the ending is not much impressive, though it is bearable.
Overall, it a teenager movie from the makers of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ and is for all those waiting for a typical love story.
